Have you ever been in a situation where your iPhone says No Service and youI can't connect to a cellular networkor mobile data, make or receive calls, send or receive text messages? Well, it's a common cellular signal and network error, but it can usually be fixed. There is no single solution to fix this. In many cases, it's due to misconfigured cellular settings, iOS update errors, software glitches, hardware issues, or your cellular data plan, but the causes aren't always so obvious. It is critical to eliminate two things as sources of service interference:
- Check if your operator has canceled your account. The carrier will disconnect the iPhone and terminate phone service after an unpaid bill or late payment and suspicion of illegal behavior. So make sure that your device is in good condition and that your mobile data plan is activated.

1. iPhone Says No Service: Start by Checking Your Coverage Area
When you go to an exact location where you don't see any reception bars or iPhone service, chances are you'll arrive at a place like the edge of an area, underground, at the bottom of a building or elevator with poor cellular network coverage.
If you are on board, you may be outside the limits of your network. To make sure your iPhone can answer calls, send texts, and use wireless data when you travel internationally, you'll need to enable data roaming. To activate it, go toSettings > Cellular > Cellular data options > Data roaming.

5G coverage has been developing. All four of Apple's iPhone models support 5G connectivity and 5G networks, and all four major carriers in the US -- Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint -- are working on 5G technology. So make sure you are in an area with cellular network coverage. In case you randomly drop service in the area that should have the strongest signal, read on and try different solutions.
2. Disable and re-enable mobile data
It might sound silly, but many users whose iPhone says No Service have found this to be a reliable solution to fix the problem. Turning mobile data off and back on will give your cellular network connection a fresh start, should the signal drop to No Service due to a minor software glitch.
To disable and enable mobile data, go tosettings, then touchMobile phoneoMobile data. Always keep it on.
3. Reboot your iPhone
If you contact your carrier or Apple support, probably one of the suggested methods is to restart your iPhone. Turning iPhone off and on often causes iPhone to say No Service and get service back, as well as many errors that are responsible for the signal problem.
Sometimes after ending a call or updating to the latest version of iOS, the iPhone randomly drops service completely and finally shows No Service. It goes easy; restarting the phone also works for this.
To restart your iPhone X, XR, 11, 12 or later, press and hold the side button and the volume button. If you are using iPhone SE (2nd generation), 8, 7, 6, SE (1st generation), 5 or earlier, press and hold the power button. When the power off slider appears, drag it to the right and wait 30 seconds for the device to power off.
Wait a moment and turn on the phone. Just press the power button until you see the Apple logo on the screen. Let it complete the initialization process to see if it connects to your carrier's service.

4. Check if a carrier settings update is available
From time to time, operators release updates to improve the connection and efficiency of the cellular network. If you discover that your iPhone has a problem with the "No Service" error, a cellular carrier update should restore service.
There is no obvious option to update carrier settings, instead your iPhone will prompt you to update carrier settings whenever a new update is available. You can also manually check and install the carrier settings update by following the steps below. Note that if you switch to a new (or different) SIM card, you'll also need to manually check for the update and download carrier settings to your iPhone.
1. Connect your device to a secure Wi-Fi network.
2. Tocasettings>In general>About. If an update is available from your cellular service, you'll see settings update messages from your carrier stating "New settings are available. Would you like to update now?"
3. ClickUpdate. If you don't see this message after 10 seconds, your carrier settings are up to date. You can see your carrier version next to Carrier.
Sometimes incorrect carrier settings can cause iPhone to say No Service and lose signal. Just change the cellular network selection from automatic to off, then choose the specific carrier your SIM card belongs to. This only applies to certain carriers.
1. Go tosettings, then touchMobile phone.
2. TocaOperatoror network selection, turn offAutomaticand then select which cellular network to connect to.
3. Go back to the home screen and wait for your iPhone to connect to the service.
5. Turn airplane mode off and back on
Another helpful way you can do to fix the problem that makes your iPhone keep saying No Service is to put it in Airplane Mode and then turn it off again. It's a reconnection process that gives you peace of mind when an iPhone has no service (no signal, no internet). You can do this through Control Center and the Settings app.
Through the Control Center:
1. On the home screen, swipe up from the bottom right (iPhone X or later) or swipe up from the bottom of the screen (iPhone 8 or earlier).
2. Touch the Airplane icon to toggle Airplane mode on and off. The icon turns orange if it is enabled and turns gray when disabled.
Through the Settings app:
1. Open the Settings app.
2. Turn the switch next to Airplane mode on and off.
When the Airplane is turned off, wait a few seconds to see if your iPhone recovers service.
6. Eject the SIM card and insert it again
The SIM card connects iPhone to the mobile data network. When your SIM card is not installed correctly, iPhone says No Service that you can't make or receive calls, send messages, or browse the Internet. The damaged card can also be the cause of the problem.

You will need to use a SIM eject tool or paperclip to open the SIM tray and remove the SIM card, inspect it and insert it back into the tray to see if the device connects to service. If that doesn't work, try a different one, but be sure to update your carrier settings and select a carrier via network selection.
Be sure to check if the SIM card is damaged when it is ejected. If it is damaged or bent, you should contact your service provider to have the SIM card replaced.
7. Reset iPhone Network Settings
Whenever you face a No Service related issue on iPhone that you just can't fix, you may need to reset your network settings. Once the reset starts, the iPhone restores all network related settings to their original state and reconnects to the carrier service. Forget about your mobile networks, WiFi networks and passwords, as well as VPN connections. Basically, you would have to set them up from scratch.
To reset network settings on an iPhone and rule out the problem, do the following:
1. Abrasettingsapplication.
